Casio Men's Watch AW591MS-1A Review

Casio Men's Watch AW591MS-1A
Average Reviews:

Exactly as advertised. A little smaller than the standard G-Shock, which is what I was looking for. Band fits nice, although quite wide.
Only one very small complaint, and that is when you use the light at night, it does not backlight the digital data and therefore you cannot see it.
Other than that, a great watch that I would recommend and buy again.

This watch is awsome. It has 5 alarms, stopwatch, automatic calendar, timer, light, and is waterproof. What more could you ask for. It feels very sturdy and is definately no cheap Drug store watch. I have owned 3 to 4 hundred dollar watches and this one takes the cake. Simple yet sophisticated design, comfortable, and less than 75 bucks shipped express. There is no better deal out there, I've searched. All in all this is no TAG but for the money it blows away all the other watches in this price range and even more expensive ones. Don't think just buy it, you wont regret it.

Casio Men's AW80-7AV World Time Databank 10-Year Battery Watch Review

Casio Men's AW80-7AV World Time Databank 10-Year Battery Watch
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have had this watch for @ 2 months now. I say for under 20 dollars it's a pretty good watch. It has kept perfect time over 2 months. It is lightweight and the band is very comfortable. I like having the analog hands and being able to display the digital date/time.
Now in no way do I expect this watch to be anywhere near the quality of my Citizens Chronograph, my Invicta Diver or my Swiss Army Officers watch. The Casio is a watch I bought for bumming around.
On the negative side, the light does not do a very good job of illumination. Additionally, setting the time is really cumbersome. Setting the anaog time is not too bad, but setting the digital date and time is really a pain. Keep the instructions handy, you will need it when you have to change the time.
All in all, for @ 15 dollars, it is a nice decent watch. A good value purchase

Casio Men's Edifice Watch EF-503D-1A Review

Casio Men's Edifice Watch EF-503D-1A
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I purchased this watch for myself about 2 months ago. I challenge anyone to find a better looking watch in this price range. It looks like a million bucks! I love the red hands, the chrome rings around the chronograph dials, the illumination tick marks, and how comfortable it is to wear. It's heavier than it looks, but not at all clumsy or bulky. It's a great watch to wear everyday, or for when you need to dress up.
I had actually chipped the crystal about 1 month after getting it. I sent it to Casio, and they repaired it under warranty. I also have a more expensive Seiko chronograph watch similar in style, and I think this Casio is a better looking watch.
I love my EF503D. I didn't think it was possible to get such a great looking watch for this kind of money. So why not 5 stars? I do feel like the crystal chipped and scratched too easily, but for this price, maybe it's what I should expect.

Casio Men's Leather watch #MTP1094Q7B1 Review

Casio Men's Leather watch #MTP1094Q7B1

I just received my "gold" Casio, beautifully wrapped and boxed. Thanks. I like the watch a lot. I hope the gold appearance will last. This looks as real-gold as an 18k 30-year service award Rolex watch I have.
The watch is a good size, thin, elegant looking, and has a high quality appearance. You can stop the second hand by pulling the stem all the way out. The leather strap and buckle are excellent quality. I am a watch nut, but I bet I'll be wearing this one most of the time.
Although the watch under this model number is no longer available, I see what is apparently the same watch a bit farther on in the listing for a few bucks more. I also see one with the same case in steel color.
Can someone please tell me how durable is the gold color on Casios?

The only negatives that I can see for this watch is it's weight which is very heavy and that the digital text is too small. But, it was made to be tough and it accomplishes that very well.

You'll be dressed for success with this Casio Tough stainless steel men's analog/digital watch (MTP1225A-8AV), but it's also durable enough to handle your active lifestyle outside of the office. It's solar-powered--charging in either sunlight or indoor light--so you'll never have to deal with changing the battery. The large, round silver stainless steel watch case measures 38mm (1.5 inches wide) and is topped by a raised bezel with an interior purple dial with silver 5-minute marks and small minute indexes. The silver stainless steel bracelet band flows seamlessly and tapers slightly from the case, and it's joined by a secure fold-over clasp. The dark green dial face is complemented by silver triangular markers, thin silver hands (with seconds hand), and a digital day/date function at 3 o'clock. This watch is water resistant to 100 meters (10 ATM, 330 feet), suitable for recreational snorkeling. Casio Men's Illuminator watch #AW-80-4BV Review

Casio Men's Illuminator watch #AW-80-4BV
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I got this watch as a replacement for my totally utilitarian Casio F91 "beater." That watch is a couple of years old and still works after some seriously hard use, but the strap broke so I upgraded it for a less generic Casio. I primarily chose this one for the size, its not bulky like most other multi feature watches. I like the beatability of the "G shock" types, and the fun features of the "Pathfinders" but they are just too bulky for me.
Besides looking less nerdy than the F91, this one has a couple of extra useful features such as world time, and a countdown timer. And one not so useful one-- "telememo" which lets you enter some small bits of letters and numbers. It would be more useful if the strap had a little paper pad on it.I've actually used it to remember to something at the grocery store. And I programmed my telememo to say "Smile!" which is sort of a fun way to personalize the watch.
I really like the three alarm feature, that way I can set my wake up, plus two reminders during the day. The snooze feature is a bit of a bother to switch off, which is probably a good thing because you have to be conscious to make it stop.
The push button illumination has been a source of a lot of complaints in other reviews on Amazon. It does work, but it only illuminates the dial, not the LCD display, and since the dial is black, its not very bright. But you can see the position of the hands, which is really all you need. Note that the hands also glow in the dark all night, so its not really necessary to use the pushbutton at all, if your eyes are adjusted to the dark. I found that in the early morning, the missing 5 through 7 numerals, make it a bit difficult to determine the hour, unless you are fully awake, which might not be the case at this time.
Setting the watch is more complicated than the F91W and less intuitive. The manual that comes with the watch is small and most of it is in languages you dont need. I went to the Casio website and downloaded the full page size manual, which is three pages. (I suggest tossing out the foreign language portion of the mini-manual, and putting the english part in your travel bag with your toothbrush. You may need the instructions to reset the watch when you are in a different time zone.) The buttons are labeled A B C & D in the manual, but have different names on the dial, which doesn't help. I also found it difficult to get an exact time hack on the minute hand. I'm sure its possible, but it wasn't clear from the instructions. The analog hands and the digital time display operate independently, which is too bad because it would make setting easier if they coordinated. (The minute hand does coordinate to the digital, but only in 20 sec increments).
Just to clear up confusion from statements I read in other Amazon reviews on watches in this series -- this watch does NOT feature a thermometer or radio controlled atomic clock setting. It comes with a rubber strap. I've also read some complaints about the clear plastic scratching, but I figure at this price, its cheap enough to consider a disposable. Its so cheap I can beat on it like a rental car and not worry at all about scratching or breaking it. That's the joy of a good, cheap watch! When this one gets scratched too badly to buff, or the strap breaks, I will drop it in the local salvation army box. With the scuba colors, it might make a cool fish tank ornament, too. I like the sporty scuba diver looks of this watch. The high contrast yellow and black scheme looks cool and is easy to find when you put it down on a cluttered desk.
I think this watch would be pefect if the light were brighter, and the time setting were easier. Also, the dial and hands could be a bit bigger if 10mm weren't eaten up by the bezel. The dial itself is only 25mm. The Telememo function is doofy and not practical, and the name sounds too much like Spanish language TV. If the memo werent limited to a few letters, and if it coordinated with an alarm it would be a great idea. That way you could set an alarm with a reminder what you need to do. The black face absorbs the LED light, a white face with black hands would be easier to read day and night.
Overall I am very happy with the quality, style, dimensions and price of this watch.

Casio Men's WVA320J-1E Atomic Tough Solar Waveceptor Sports Watch Review

Casio Men's WVA320J-1E Atomic Tough Solar Waveceptor Sports Watch
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The watch looks better in person than it does in the pictures. I recommend going to a brick and mortar store before committing on Amazon. The watch looks much better with an after-market nylon zulu/nato strap. Another version with a steel bracelet is offered, but I've heard that the quality on the bracelet is not great, so I recommend after-market bracelets (watch has standard 22mm lugs). The lume on the hands is very bright, unfortunately, the rest of the lume is a little dim, not sure if that is meant on purpose. Weak lume is a non-issue since the watch has a electric light that adequately illuminates the watch. The digital display can be used for a number of things, not just weekday and calendar day indication. It can also display different time zone times, power meter, stop watch, digital time, digital second indicator... etc. Its really cool to see that the digital time is exactly synchronized with the analog time. THIS IS NOT A DIVE WATCH! As far as a I can tell, the watch is not rated for diving, but it is styled after dive watches so I find that a little misleading. The bezel is unidirectional with 120 clicks. The atomic synchronization doesn't seem to work well here in Miami, reception from FT. Collins is poor to non-existent, but that is not Casio's fault. NIST has plans to build a station that will cover the east coast of the US but plans are not set in stone or near the horizon, so I wouldn't hold my breath. Bought the watch at $120 from Amazon (noticed the price went up :( Initially was told that the watch would ship in 1 month! but the actual ship time was a lot shorter in reality. I agree with another reviewer that the watch was a little confusing to setup initially and that the manual was a little confusing but eventually you will figure it out with a little patience.
Bottomline --- Watch is not perfect, it is not dive rated but is probably well suited for all other water activities. Packs plenty of high-tech features in a classic appearance. If you like the dive watch style but don't want the clunkiness of a dive watch, this is it. Casio reliability and quality is legendary.

Based on the best-selling AMW320 case design, the Casio Men's Atomic Tough Solar Waveceptor Sports Watch #WVA320J-1E is more powerful and more accurate than ever thanks to Casio's Solar Power and Waveceptor Atomic Timekeeping technology. With its classic dive style design (which include features like a rotating bezel, resin band, and an LED display built into its bold, black dial), this handsome timepiece is ready for a day at the office or inspection by the ship's divemaster. The watch's reliable Japanese quartz movement is solar powered--which can accurately keep time up to six months without further exposure to light. And if you're in the US or Japan, the watch receives time calibration radio signals (up to six times per day), so you always know your watch is set to the right time. Other technical features include three daily alarms, an LED light with Afterglow technology, Neo-Brite luminous hands and markers, a stopwatch that records split time, a calendar (pre-programmed until the year 2099), 12- and 24-hour formats, and water resistance to 330 feet (100 meters).

Casio Men's MTP3036A-2AV Analog Bracelet Watch Review

Casio Men's MTP3036A-2AV Analog Bracelet Watch
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought this from Amazon for $22, and it is a great deal. Here is what you get from this watch for a beer budget:
1. Quartz clock accuracy (+/- 20 sec per month, probably one standard-deviation, so yours is likely to be more accurate than that).
2. Anti-scratch mineral crystal watch surface. I accidentally bumped it against a steel nail, and the glass did not scratch.
3. Stainless steel case and screw-in back cover -- should be water-proof for many years even after battery change (as opposed to a press-and-pop-in back cover that loses its water-tightness after opening).
4. Stainless steel band with secure push button clasp should last a few years longer than leather or plastic bands which require constant replacing. I soaked the watch in water on the first day, and it has not rusted after two weeks -- stainless as advertised.
5. A good looking watch with quality workmanship -- smooth and shiney crystal glass with perfectly machined shiney stainless steel surfaces on the case and band. You would think that the watch costs $80 ~ $100. The only thing missing from my wish list is the luminating hands and hour-markings. You will not be able to read the watch in the dark. But for 20 bucks, I'll live with it.

Casio Men's AQ160W-1BV Ana-Digi Electro-Luminescent Sport Watch Review

Casio Men's AQ160W-1BV Ana-Digi Electro-Luminescent Sport Watch
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is the 3rd Casio I buy in the last year... and the cheapest. I previously tried the G601-1AV and later the GW1300A-9AV, both of the G-Shock family. However, I was looking for one with analog and digital time, but easy to read and with night illumination. The G601 is nice, but the small rounded digital displays are a bit too small for my old eyes, and the night illumination is only for the digital displays!. Then I bought the GW1300 because it was advertised as having two LEDs that illuminated the whole face of the watch and was solar powered. True! but... the design is such that when the face is illuminated in the dark, it is so full of shiny surfaces and reflections that you can hardly distinguish the analog hands, and nothing of the digital displays. So, I kept looking and finally decided on this one, the AQ160W with not too much hope... and voila! it was perfect for me! Thinner than the G-Shocks and very light weight, the digital displays are big and easy to read, even if the hands are over them (the digits look gold on day light, very nice, not like the picture here which shows how it looks when the green back light is on). The backlight, with optional auto turn-on, is perfectly readable, and you can see, besides the big numbers, the silhouette of the analog hands over the background. I am ready to give up the 200m water resist, the solar power, the waveceptor auto time set, the automatic handles setting by the digital clock, all for the good design of this watch. It would be perfect if Casio added to this one the solar power and the auto setting of the analog clock. The dual world time, auto calendar, chronometer, timer, multiple alarms, are all common features of these watches however.
The only drawback for me is the extremely thin resin band, which being very confortable, does not look long lasting. I hope I can find replacements in the future.
Anyway, great watch! My search is over...
(I must say that this search would have been much easier if I had the chance to try these watches in a local store before buying, but none of these models were available where I live.)
Update 26/Oct/2009: After 2 years of almost continuous use, the battery still works and the resin band, though not looking like new anymore, has no sign of deterioration. I was wrong thinking that it would break easily. Great watch!
Update July 2010: the battery refuses to die... the resin band has no sign of cracks... so what can I say? The backlight is dimmer though, so I am buying a new one soon. I definitively recommend it.

CASIO is hip. They're the masters of plastic. I like this watch because it keeps excellent time, is light-weight, and from a distace, it resembles a Swiss-Army watch. This watch is great for using in the healthcare field. Its water proof, and it has both a digital and analog display WITH second hand. A second hand is a must for counting pulse and respirations. I always have the digital time set to 24 hour time, and I use the analog for everyday 12 hour. It also has a separate display that shows the current day and date. Having all of these features displayed at once (24 hour, 12 hour, day, date and second hand) is just very convenient. I liked it so much that I bought another in case something happens to my first. Good job Casio! Nice practical design. Thanks for having a second hand on this watch.
