The two features I'd like to change about this watch are: 1) Add a timer feature and 2)Make the buttons smaller so they don't get accidentally pushed. I had a Timex Expedition for many years, but they don't make it any more. This one is probably slightly dressier-looking than the more rugged Expedition, but I prefer the Expedition for its timer and it's smaller buttons.

(More customer reviews)I have had this watch for @ 2 months now. I say for under 20 dollars it's a pretty good watch. It has kept perfect time over 2 months. It is lightweight and the band is very comfortable. I like having the analog hands and being able to display the digital date/time.
Now in no way do I expect this watch to be anywhere near the quality of my Citizens Chronograph, my Invicta Diver or my Swiss Army Officers watch. The Casio is a watch I bought for bumming around.
On the negative side, the light does not do a very good job of illumination. Additionally, setting the time is really cumbersome. Setting the anaog time is not too bad, but setting the digital date and time is really a pain. Keep the instructions handy, you will need it when you have to change the time.
All in all, for @ 15 dollars, it is a nice decent watch. A good value purchase

(More customer reviews)My wife has quite a few watches, some quite expensive and some not so expensive. But none of them can do what this watch does. For the extremely low price of this watch it's just amazing to me how Casio can put all these features into this watch. Although this watch has an alarm which we don't use we only wanted it because it has the time, day and date displayed in large readable numbers. Plus we wanted a light to read the time easily in the dark and this watch does that well.
I have a Casio men's watch that has similar features as this one Casio Men's W89HB-5AV Illuminator Sport Resin Strap Watch and I love it. I wear it constantly around the house, it's just a great every day watch. My wife was getting jealous because I always had the day, date, and time handy day or night. Consequently we bought her this blue Casio watch.
Unlike most watches where you have to change the date at the end of the month, it's not necessary with this one it's all programmed in until 2099. The only time you have to change anything on this watch is daylight savings time. On the front or top of the watch there is a very convenient blue button, when pressed the watch face will light up allowing you to easily see the time in the dark. My wife wears this watch constantly, that means even to bed " its that comfortable " so she can tell the time if she wakes up a night.
Let me say it's an attractive watch in a cute way. No it does not look like an expensive watch, so don't wear it with your uppity country club friends unless you don't mind them talking behind your back. It's all plastic with a stainless steal back. It's water resistant to 165 feet, which means you can bathe, shower or ever swim with it on. It has a 10 year battery in it which is nice, although I doubt very much the watch exterior will last anywhere near that long.
I first thought of buying the pink version of this watch, but reading the reviews it seems it's hard to see the pink numbers. My wife does not have that problem with the blue numbers. All and all this is an attractive everyday watch that takes all the guess work out of the time, day or date whether it's day or night.
I gave it 5 stars not because it is the most attractive well made time and date watch out there, but because it did everything we expected it to do well. And the extremely low price was an additional plus.

2) Thin: Most of the thin watches I see are designed for girls. I can confirm that wearing this watch will not lose your manliness.

Casio Men's AQ164WD-2AV Ana-Digi Sport Watch Review

I spent quite a bit of time looking for a watch that has all the features I wanted, and this fit the bill perfectly. I wanted analog + digital so I could have all the "nerdy" features I was after without looking like I'm wearing a "nerd" watch - something that would look as good at a formal dinner party as it would at the beach. I especially like the low-profile buttons on this watch (which work just fine despite their size).
Nuts and bolts: this Casio has 3 alarms (1 snooze), day/date calendar, dual time, multi-lap stopwatch, and most important to me, a countdown timer (why every digital watch doesn't have one in this day and age is beyond me). Note also that there is a digital sweep-second indicator that fills the little "windows" that surround the circumference of the dial. The illumination is of the "indiglo" variety and works great.
I think this watch looks very elegant and it seems to be well made - it has a solid, dependable feel. I really like the cobalt-blue dial (note that you can also get this watch with a white or black dial). The bracelet seems sturdy and well-made and it's comfortable on my wrist. It is not obscenely thick like some of the Casio G-Shock watches that look like you're wearing a small laptop computer on your wrist - nicely proportioned in thickness vs diameter.
Cons - the digital sweep second indicator is really too small and hard to see to be of much use except in the brightest light. The two LCD windows are a bit small if your eyesight is fading (but perfectly fine to my 46-year-old eyes). Note that these LCD windows are behind the analog hands so they will be obscured during certain times of the day, but then again, how often do you have to look up the day/date in a normal day?
Overall, two thumbs way up - I am completely satisfied. Far and away the best watch I found at this price, and I spent weeks looking at Amazon's offerings from Casio, Timex, Citizen, Pulsar, Fossil, and others.

Casio Men's W756B-1AV Digital Sport Watch Review

(More customer reviews)I have had the watch for about a month and it is great. Just what one would expect. It does have more features than I would probably prefer (e.g., a somewhat complex stopwatch function), but that is just the way these things are going. I like the one-click change from 12- to 24-hour time.
I bought the watch planning on switching out the band when I got it. That is probably a good thing as the band which came with the watch seems un-naturally skinny. The watch is 1.6" in diameter and the band just does not seem to go with the watch. But, maybe that is just my taste.
Anyway, I wanted a Timex or Casio 100 m. watch for cheap. That is exactly what this is. I generally get 5-7 years out of these kind of watches before they even need a new battery. Often the watch goes ka-put sometime during the life of the second battery.
If this watch got run over by a truck today, I would buy another one tomorrow...at least if they were still 20 bucks.

(More customer reviews)I love this watch. I've been re-buying it since the 80's. I typically trash watches within a year or so but I can make these last for a good 5 years or more even with hard use. Considering that I started out paying about 10 bucks for it, that's pretty impressive. Every one has survived my sweaty exercise sessions, sloppy dishwashing and slamming my wrist against things. The band can be torn but somehow I've only managed to do that on one of the four or so I've bought. And the band fits my little skinny wrist that NO jewelry fits, without having to alter it in any way. I use every feature on this watch, especially the countdown timer, which is a great tool for those of us who are easily distracted. If I have to remember to do something in a few minutes (from 5 to 30 minutes), whether it's call someone back, check the oven, turn off the garden hose, switch the laundry, or whatever, I can utilize the countdown timer as a reminder tool that travels with me unlike a kitchen timer or a sticky note. The watch is small and flat, and although it has a very vinyl utilitarian look, I choose it most of the time over my prettier dress watches because it's far more functional. This is not jewelry by any means but it's a great cost-effective little tool, if that's what you're into (and I am).

Its kind of a gag but very stylish to me. You will probably be the only person you know wearing one of these. I particularly like the flat gold colored plastic face, which is a nice subtle contrast with the shiny golden metal. In the 10 or 12 months that I have been wearing it the time has never wavered. The full-screen blue backlight is nice looking and fun, but it stopped working shortly after I got it, then suddenly started working again briefly, and now never works. (still keeping time perfectly though) I bought it here on Amazon, but it is not stocked by Amazon. I think these ones for sale are old stock, with batteries running all the while. ...Also, having not been very careful and washing my hands often at work, the watch has tarnished on many of the edges. I havent looked closely, but it appears irreversable. Still, this is my favorite watch ever, and I'm about to buy another. I thought I would alternate with the casio calculator watch I bought around the same time, but my habit quickly became wearing this gold one all the time.

(More customer reviews)I had been looking for a gold digital watch for a number of years when I finally discovered this one - I don't understand why more aren't made - I want a functional watch that is nice enough to wear with a dress or out somewhere, that has basic features and can also be worn everyday - this fit the bill. It has the date, time, and an alarm. The only feature that it could benefit from is having a light. But I love the "timer" feature along the top - so much so that I am buying a second one. If I need to do something for 10 minutes, I always have a quick timer with me - one quick button pushed a few times gives you 1, 3, 5, 10, 15, 20, 30 minutes to an alarm. It's very quick and I find I use that feature often.

Watch is very lightweight and the band looks very handsome. Has everything you really need, two time zones, timer, stopwatch, daily alarm, indiglo. I use the stopwatch to time how long my tea brews, and the timer to keep myself from burning things in the oven. The alarm has no snooze, so I wouldn't rely on that to wake you up, but perhaps you could use the alarm as a reminder to do something. For 15 bucks, this watch is a great buy.

(More customer reviews)This watch is the same as the Mudman GW9000A-1 except for a metal case and band/plastic plated to look like metal instead of the GW9000's heavy black resin bezel and band.
This makes for a very versatile, tough, and fully featured watch that looks more dressy than the Mudman. I've read that the plating (or is it painted) on some of the plastic can wear down to show the plastic underneath, but I've seen no evidence of that at all. On the contrary, my watch has seen the some of the same abuse that killed my non-Gshock watches and has come through w/out a scratch.
It has a great feature set. If you've ever had a Casio, you know how easy they are to learn to use. A feature I didn't think I needed, but have come to love is the auto el feature. It automatically flashes the light on for just over a second if you look at the watch in the dark.
This watch is also cool because you can see the time of day when in in countdown timer mode.
This is a great watch if you want: solar charging, atomic time setting, world time, stopwatch, and countdown timer with a light. You can't go wrong with this watch. Looking for something more blue collar? Try the GW9000A.

Band is easy to adjust compared to Casio.
The price is low so you can just buy a new one when the battery goes,
The battery lasts for years if you don't use the light or alarm too much,
I'm very active and hard on watches. As they say, it takes a linkin' and keeps on tickin'.
Cons:
The band is stainless steel but the silver color on the watch is just silver paint on plastic. It wears away by the time the battery fades. That's ok with me because I just buy a new watch anyway.

To reitereate, this is a very smart & sweet looking watch, and also is all metal and digital, which are both rare at this size. However, the negative aspects are: no light, no date, and the clasp comes apart very easily. The description gives the erroneous impression the strap is the expansion type, but in fact it is a metal strap with a clasp that can slide up & down one arm, to a length that fits you.
I can see why one of the previous reviewers lost her watch: it is very easy not to snap the clasp closed properly. It came apart on me more than once and, the watch being so light, it is quite easy not to notice it has gone!
I like the watch but am very disappointed with the strap. I did consider getting a genuine expansion one which was what I had been looking for, but this turned out to cost more the the watch itself! If, like me, you are looking for a watch with an expansion type strap, Timex does them much better but unfortunately, and disappointingly, does not do them in digital form....
