Casio Men's Watch AW591MS-1A Review

Casio Men's Watch AW591MS-1A
Average Reviews:

Exactly as advertised. A little smaller than the standard G-Shock, which is what I was looking for. Band fits nice, although quite wide.
Only one very small complaint, and that is when you use the light at night, it does not backlight the digital data and therefore you cannot see it.
Other than that, a great watch that I would recommend and buy again.

This is my 3rd G shock in 20 years... Yes, they last a very long time. I replaced my G-2900, which is by far, my favorite, because the band broke. I got this G2900F-3VDR because it was on sale and looked nearly exactly the same as my G2900. The color is like a dark military brown. Love it. The only thing I miss is the metal button that you push to backlight the face. It is plastic in this model, and makes it look just a little cheap. Otherwise, I still love this watch!

This watch is awsome. It has 5 alarms, stopwatch, automatic calendar, timer, light, and is waterproof. What more could you ask for. It feels very sturdy and is definately no cheap Drug store watch. I have owned 3 to 4 hundred dollar watches and this one takes the cake. Simple yet sophisticated design, comfortable, and less than 75 bucks shipped express. There is no better deal out there, I've searched. All in all this is no TAG but for the money it blows away all the other watches in this price range and even more expensive ones. Don't think just buy it, you wont regret it.

Casio Men's G1000-1A G-Shock Analog Chronograph Watch Review

Casio Men's G1000-1A G-Shock Analog Chronograph Watch
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This watch is a pleasant curiosity. It is an ingenious success in designing an analog watch which performs typically digital functions such as alarm, stop watch, world-time, and day-date. The cleverness of the engineering is satisfying. All these functions are more easily used and read on a digital watch, of course, but that's not the point. This watch is for someone wanting a stylish, rugged quartz G-Shock watch that is snobbishly retro analog. The owner of this watch can have tradition and progress in one comfortable package. It's not a waveceptor, so you don't have to position it to receive a time signal at night, and it's not tough solar, so you don't have to keep it well lighted.

Casio Men's PAG240B-2CR Pathfinder Triple Sensor Multi-Function Sport Watch Review

Casio Men's PAG240B-2CR Pathfinder Triple Sensor Multi-Function Sport Watch
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I've owned several watches from the 1500 Pathfinder series, along with G-Shocks's, Citizen and Tissot watches. I decided to update my watch collection with a new Pathfinder. Now I had looked at the 2000/5000 series but I didn't like the display on either, so I waited. I came across the PAG-240 one day and started researching it since then. Was a bit difficult finding information on this new watch since it was just released but I decided to pull the trigger on it anyways.
At first, I was a bit leery because this watch didn't have an atomic function but decided, how hard was it to sync it up with one of my other atomic watches once a month? So I bought it and was pleasantly surprised. First, I love the sunrise/sunset (after setting it to the right area) feature. The moon/tide feature on the previous Pathy's didn't really benefit me. I like the dual LCD which is designed for the compass. The temp gauge is better than the previous models as well. It adjusts quite quickly once removed from your wrist (your body heat will affect the temp reading). Another simple but nice added feature is the duration of the light. In previous models, you had just one second but with this watch it lets you choose LT1 or LT3 (one or three seconds) as the duration.
One gripe about this watch is the band. It's half cloth, half leather. But like anything I resolve problems, so I replaced it with another band from one of my previous Pathy's. Problem solved.
I camp and hike a lot and I wanted a watch that's very durable. I also dive as well and watched a watch for it's water resistance. Now typically, I'd go for a watch that had 200M WR but these (and the G's) are made so well, I don't have much to worry about. I actually did a few tests and opened up one of my previous Pathy's, removed the "O" ring and closed it back up. Threw it in a tub of water for 2 days. Was fine. Opened up the watch, took out the module and dumped it in water, the screen faded out but once I took it out of the water, it was fine! I did this about 5 times with the module. Now don't go dunking your opened watch in a tub of water but it just goes to show that the Casio watches are very robust and well made.
You can't go wrong with this watch that's designed to replace both the 40/200 series of the Pathfinder series.

This is a big watch with many different functions. But what I like about it is the dial. It is easy to read even in the dark. And the dial has a very nice color combination. The watch is not very heavy and fits on the arm well.Would I buy it again? Yes I would. Casio makes very good products. This is not a delicate little watch. If you have a small wrist, it will cover it entirely. It is wide and thick. But if you like big watches, this is a very good deal for the price.

Casio Men's GW7900B-1 G-Shock Solar Atomic Black Digital Sport Watch Review

Casio Men's GW7900B-1 G-Shock Solar Atomic Black Digital Sport Watch
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Top 10 Gadgets of 2009 (Rated #8) according to Time magazine. This is my first G-Shock and first watch with an inverted display. I wanted a sturdy watch that I wouldn't feel would break if I banged into something. I have several Citizen, Tissot watches that I just felt were to prone to being scratched/destroyed.
I'm very happy with the design/look of this watch. The pictures (as of today) on Amazon are distorted and don't do justice to the look of the watch. While this watch is a very large watch compared to some of the other G's, it feels nice and comfortable on my wrist.
I wanted a watch for functions as well as reliability. With the watch being solar powered, along with an atomic feature makes this watch a must have. The watch has alarm's, timer, dedicated button (the G button) to the light which is very nice (can work in any mode), 2nd time zone, world time, etc.
I've gone through a lot of watches in my time but this by far is one of my favorites and is a must have in your collection if you're looking for a reliable, sturdy, function filled watch!
1/5/10 Follow-up:
Since I'm an avid Scuba Diver, I wanted to know if this particular watch can be operated underwater (switching through operations on the watch).
This is the response I got from Casio-
"Dear Mr. Travale,

The GW7900B-1 has a water resistance of up to 200M. These models do permit underwater button operation.

We hope that we were able to assist you with your question and again, thank you for contacting CASIO AMERICA."

Casio Men's GW6900-1 G-Shock Atomic Digital Sport Watch Review

Casio Men's GW6900-1 G-Shock Atomic Digital Sport Watch
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is my first Casio watch and up until the time of purchase, I had been one of those "$5-$20 cheap-o sport watch" buyers. So if I were going to spend anything around $90 for a sport watch I would need to make sure it was worth the cost. After reading an article on a men's health/lifestyle website about fashion ([...], I think), they recommended the g-shock series by Casio since they offer a lot of functions and good quality for around $90. I found the GW6900-1 on sale for around $70 and I decided to buy it figuring I could always return it later if it didn't work out. Here are my observations on the two main selling points...
Design: The GW6900-1 is very basic. It's modeled off of the original DW6900 (Casio Men's G-Shock Classic Digital Watch #DW6900-1V) which is apparently G-Shock's best-selling case design. Personally, I feel that the numbers on the display are a little small. But I really like how it's not too crowded or junked up by unnecessary frills. The three circular dials above the time/day/date display are quite simple and indicate 1) the battery strength, 2) which functions are enabled (alarm, snooze alarm, hour signal beep, auto EL and button mute) and 3) a 10-second count indicator. The case/band isn't the sleekest looking - there are more modern styles out there - but it's not ugly by any means. Also, it's a little on the bulky side (doesn't exactly fit under a shirt cuff), but I don't feel it eats up my entire wrist. The 4 function buttons are easy to press and their labels are nice and straight-forward with alternate operations shown just inside the frame. Very easy to follow and operate.
Functions: The product description above pretty much lays out all the cool stuff this watch has going on for it, so I'll try not to be redundant here. I do want to highlight some of the operations that make this worth the price tag.
- Auto-EL (electro-luminescent): One thing that impressed me about this watch even before I put it on was the "smart" back-light. As I removed it from the box, I noticed the back-light come on. I thought something was wrong with it at first, but as I read through the manual I learned that this nifty function is *supposed* to happen. The watch's light turns on for about 1.5 seconds (or 3, your choice) in a dark room when you tilt your wrist towards your eyes without the need to press the button. How cool is that?! You can disable this to save on battery life if you want, but I doubt it's all that necessary. Which brings me to...
- Battery Life: This sucker is equipped with a solar powered battery that lasts up to 10 months on a full charge. Further exposure to light will keep it going and that goes for everything from direct sunlight, to light filtered through windows even to fluorescent lighting found in most buildings. Chances are good that given the amount of interaction most humans have with the sun or other light sources, you won't need to worry about this dying on you anytime soon. (That is unless you're a vampire or really into the goth scene.) Also, it has a power-saving mode you can apply that causes the watch to go into "sleep" mode during the hours of 11pm and 6am.
- Atomic Timekeeping: Like pretty much every cell phone, this watch calibrates time automatically. But it does it in 48 cities across 31 times zones all while taking daylight saving into account. And it runs about 5-6 times in the wee hours of morning just to make sure. (You can set time yourself too if you'd like.) Also, it's classified as multi-band 6 which means it automatically receives signals from pretty much every main radio point around the world (U.S., England, Germany, China and Japan).
- Waterproofing: This is probably a moot point, but I found it neat to learn that with a 20BAR/200M rating, you can pretty much use this while scuba diving.
- The rest: It's got 4 regular alarms and one snooze ("persistent") alarm. A stopwatch that lets you measure elapsed time, split time and two finishes. A countdown timer (which is a non-negotiable for me given that it comes in handy whether your cooking something or doing laundry). Full auto-calendar (pre-programmed until the year 2099) and optional 12/24 hour formats.
That's about all I can really think of. I'm *extremely* pleased with my purchase and intend to have long, happy relationship with this watch!
*** REVIEW UPDATE ***
11/8/10 - A few months ago, I noticed that my watch was not holding a charge as well as it had during the first, several months of ownership. I was especially concerned when I encountered the flashing "LOW" battery indicator several times. Since there's no ideal place in my home to place the watch in sunlight to charge (lots of trees and bushes blocking windows), I would resort to setting it on my car dashboard when I went shopping or under a fluorescent lamp at work or home. Usually, this would bring the meter back up to (at least) medium strength. But the process would need to be repeated in 2-3 days. Frustrated, and thinking I picked the watch with a bad battery, I contacted Casio G-shock customer support and explained my predicament. Here is part of the response I received:
"...Solar G-Shocks must be charged, preferably using sun light rather than fluorescent lighting. You would have to leave it under the light for 73 hrs before it even reaches level one. The sun can charge it in about 17-23 hrs total. A watch that isn't charged will last about 9 months before flashing recovery. You can try letting it charge for 2-3 days, it is normal for the watch to stay on Med. If its on High and quickly goes to Low or flashes recovery, you may need to have the solar cell replaced...."
So apparently I was under the impression that charge times were far shorter than what the customer service rep told me (the result of a gross underestimation found in the instruction manual that comes with the watch). Thankfully and happily, I can report that after 3-4 days of leaving my watch in my car to charge during an 8-hour workday, the battery level indicator is once again showing a level 3 (high) charge.
I felt the need to share this update since there may be other users/potential customers who find themselves in a similar situation. (I noticed at least one very negative review which may have been prompted as such). Bottom line, you may need to be patient to get the results you expect from this timepiece.

This was'nt my first G-Shock, I have two atomic models, but this is an outstanding example of a G!!The face is unlike any other and very dramatic-it looks like a gunsight in a fighter jet. Also, it is very understated which is unusual for a G. Buttons are a little hard to push, but not a big problem. Has all the bells and whistles plus an LED at he 4 o'clock position. Can be a little hard to read in low light. If you want one get it now-no more are being made. Production ceased in 2007. Casio Men's WVA320J-1E Atomic Tough Solar Waveceptor Sports Watch Review

Casio Men's WVA320J-1E Atomic Tough Solar Waveceptor Sports Watch
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The watch looks better in person than it does in the pictures. I recommend going to a brick and mortar store before committing on Amazon. The watch looks much better with an after-market nylon zulu/nato strap. Another version with a steel bracelet is offered, but I've heard that the quality on the bracelet is not great, so I recommend after-market bracelets (watch has standard 22mm lugs). The lume on the hands is very bright, unfortunately, the rest of the lume is a little dim, not sure if that is meant on purpose. Weak lume is a non-issue since the watch has a electric light that adequately illuminates the watch. The digital display can be used for a number of things, not just weekday and calendar day indication. It can also display different time zone times, power meter, stop watch, digital time, digital second indicator... etc. Its really cool to see that the digital time is exactly synchronized with the analog time. THIS IS NOT A DIVE WATCH! As far as a I can tell, the watch is not rated for diving, but it is styled after dive watches so I find that a little misleading. The bezel is unidirectional with 120 clicks. The atomic synchronization doesn't seem to work well here in Miami, reception from FT. Collins is poor to non-existent, but that is not Casio's fault. NIST has plans to build a station that will cover the east coast of the US but plans are not set in stone or near the horizon, so I wouldn't hold my breath. Bought the watch at $120 from Amazon (noticed the price went up :( Initially was told that the watch would ship in 1 month! but the actual ship time was a lot shorter in reality. I agree with another reviewer that the watch was a little confusing to setup initially and that the manual was a little confusing but eventually you will figure it out with a little patience.
Bottomline --- Watch is not perfect, it is not dive rated but is probably well suited for all other water activities. Packs plenty of high-tech features in a classic appearance. If you like the dive watch style but don't want the clunkiness of a dive watch, this is it. Casio reliability and quality is legendary.

Based on the best-selling AMW320 case design, the Casio Men's Atomic Tough Solar Waveceptor Sports Watch #WVA320J-1E is more powerful and more accurate than ever thanks to Casio's Solar Power and Waveceptor Atomic Timekeeping technology. With its classic dive style design (which include features like a rotating bezel, resin band, and an LED display built into its bold, black dial), this handsome timepiece is ready for a day at the office or inspection by the ship's divemaster. The watch's reliable Japanese quartz movement is solar powered--which can accurately keep time up to six months without further exposure to light. And if you're in the US or Japan, the watch receives time calibration radio signals (up to six times per day), so you always know your watch is set to the right time. Other technical features include three daily alarms, an LED light with Afterglow technology, Neo-Brite luminous hands and markers, a stopwatch that records split time, a calendar (pre-programmed until the year 2099), 12- and 24-hour formats, and water resistance to 330 feet (100 meters).

Casio Men's MTG1000-9 G-Shock MT-G Multi-Band Solar Atomic Chronograph Watch Review

Casio Men's MTG1000-9 G-Shock MT-G Multi-Band Solar Atomic Chronograph Watch
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Love this watch.
Good points:
- Solar and radio sync'ed with time signal, no problem syncing every night, just have to make sure I point it west (I live in San Antonio, TX). When I am where I'm not sure where the transmitter is, I wear it to sleep, and looks like I move around enough that it eventually succeeds syncing. No problem syncing in California, Texas, Poland, Holland. I'm going to Asia in a month, we'll see.
- Switching to a different time zone is easy, if a bit long due to the time zone selecton only going one direction - going from west to east is easy, east to west requires sweeping the whole globe, and if you don't push the button fast enough you have to wait until the needle sweeps. They should have programmed another button to sweep in reverse
- As a "set and forget", this is genius. Keeps the time on the nose (with sync every night, unbeatable precision), never have to wind, no battery to change (had several waterproof watches with batteries, waterproofing dies at 2nd battery change), autmatically changes date regardless of month, changes to Daylight saving.
- Tried stopwatch and down counter, they work but I don't use them much.
- Not the least, looks cool with big dial and 3 sub-dials, with metal bracelet with composite inserts. Clasp is easy to put in, and secure with the 2 buttons you need to grasp to unhook. Much better than pure friction clasp, had a few of those and they keep on unhooking by themselves.
Bad:
- Casio lost a good opportunity, would have preferred the 24 hours needle to show home time while I'm traveling - checked with customer service, not possible.
- The seconds hand is actually in the small, lower dial, the big seconds hand is actually a function indicator, takes a while to get used to it.
- Some times I accidently hit a button and put it into stopwatch mode, takes a few seconds to realize it when I consult the time, another "get used to it" thing.
Overall, the best watch I ever had.

Hey guys,
I just got this watch a few weeks ago and found it to be brilliant for all purposes, including everyday use. Its features are:
-Digital/analog timing, really cool.
-World time in 27 cities.
-Countdown timer with repeat function and end/progress beeper option.
-Stopwatch
-4 daily alarms, 1 snooze alarm and hourly time signal, great for me!!
-EL backlight, bright and functional
This watch has a really sporty look but it is absolutely fine for any use, including formal wear. The colour matches all, and the three tone look (black, blue, dark blue) is really cool. Overall, 5 stars and two thumbs up for all!!!

Casio Mens Edifice Black Label Solar - Black Stainless - Yellow & Green Accents Review

Casio Mens Edifice Black Label Solar - Black Stainless - Yellow and Green Accents

I have this watch and it is awesome! Recommend it to anyone interested in a well built fully featured solar chronograph. The only issue is that I did not buy from Amazon! A third party has jacked up the price because it is in limited quantity (I talked to them personally). $600 is over $100 more than the suggested resale from Casio. Not sure why Amazon permits such but be that as it may, I purchased this elseware at $500 and it was instock. Goodluck...

Casio WVQ560A-1AV Casio Wave Ceptor Black Executive Mens Atomic Watch Review

Happy with this watch despite the photos making it look like the body was a satin finish, it's actually very shiny. I prefer a brushed or satin metal finish, but it still looks good and sits well on my wrist. The buckle on the strap has two(2) tounges instead of the normal, one(1)
Watch is faily heavy, and appears well made, and the strap with buckle is easy to attach, and remove.

G-Shock Watch, Men's Digital Orange Resin Strap GX56-4 0 Review

G-Shock Watch, Men's Digital Orange Resin Strap GX56-4 0

The watch is incredibly built.
My only problem is the display should have been larger given the size of the watch. The display is the same size as a regular 5600 casio.
At this price for a non atomic wave receptor casio, it should have utilized a larger display and the new led illuminator.
If you go to youtube and search casio gx56 you can see how someone fit the basic 5600 inside the body of a gx56 and you couldn't tell the difference.
The Casio Men's GD100-1ACR G-Shock X-Large Black Multi-Functional Digital Sport Watch is a much better purchase.
Thank you for reading my review.
