(More customer reviews)The reliability of Casio watches are great but the buttons on the sides always depress too easily, so you can unwittingly change what mode you're in with a mere flick of the wrist (depending how loose you wear it) or a bump from some sliding bracelets on the same arm. Annoying because if you're looking for the time, the watch could have switched to the Alarm mode or to 24 HR mode without you being aware. So you have to go through all the cycles to get the time mode to display again. I had this problem with my older Casio and was hoping this new one would be better. Not so -- in fact, a wee bit more fussy because it has one more function button than my other one. But it's still a nice, functional, daily-wear watch.

The two features I'd like to change about this watch are: 1) Add a timer feature and 2)Make the buttons smaller so they don't get accidentally pushed. I had a Timex Expedition for many years, but they don't make it any more. This one is probably slightly dressier-looking than the more rugged Expedition, but I prefer the Expedition for its timer and it's smaller buttons.

This watch and its features are all right, but within a month, the Indiglo feature died completely, so I can't see it in the dark. Maybe more disturbing is that the alarm feature -- which I use all the time -- seems to decide randomly whether you've set it for AM or PM. After MANY instances where I was sure I'd set it for AM, and then it didn't go off and I found it was set for PM (or vice versa), but I couldn't be absolutely 100% sure that I hadn't made the mistake myself, I've just confirmed it. I set it for 2:30 PM, stared at it as I set it, saw the "PM" plain as day, and then I cycled back to the clock mode and then back again to the alarm mode, and what do you know: 2:30 AM. I'm giving up on this thing.

However, the background of the watch is white and the writing is in silver!! Why they made it silver instead of black, I don't know. The picture on amazon is misleading, it appears to be black lettering but actually it's silver. You will need to hold the watch directly in front of you to see what time it is. From the side it looks like the battery is dead because you can't see anything.
I am going to return this watch and get something else.

(More customer reviews)I ordered this watch thinking it measured pulse rate, in other words that it is it is a HRM (heart rate monitor). It certainly is not. In order to get heart rate you must count pulses yourself and divide with the built-in calculator. In other words it is a calculator watch not a HRM. I'm sure the other functions are fine and it is a good looking watch, but totally useless as a HRM during exercise.
As a result, I returned this watch and ordered another version from Timex that is a true HRM. It works as advertised!

(More customer reviews)I love this watch. I've been re-buying it since the 80's. I typically trash watches within a year or so but I can make these last for a good 5 years or more even with hard use. Considering that I started out paying about 10 bucks for it, that's pretty impressive. Every one has survived my sweaty exercise sessions, sloppy dishwashing and slamming my wrist against things. The band can be torn but somehow I've only managed to do that on one of the four or so I've bought. And the band fits my little skinny wrist that NO jewelry fits, without having to alter it in any way. I use every feature on this watch, especially the countdown timer, which is a great tool for those of us who are easily distracted. If I have to remember to do something in a few minutes (from 5 to 30 minutes), whether it's call someone back, check the oven, turn off the garden hose, switch the laundry, or whatever, I can utilize the countdown timer as a reminder tool that travels with me unlike a kitchen timer or a sticky note. The watch is small and flat, and although it has a very vinyl utilitarian look, I choose it most of the time over my prettier dress watches because it's far more functional. This is not jewelry by any means but it's a great cost-effective little tool, if that's what you're into (and I am).

(More customer reviews)I love this watch. It looks and feels good on my arm. The band is flexible, comfortable and doesn't stick. The display is easy to read and the features are very intuitive. The watch only has 10 preset timers though, not 12 as listed in the description.
I only gave it two stars because I'm on my third one. The first two I bought from Amazon were defective. The indiglo nightlight stopped working within 48 hours on both watches. I returned both to Amazon. The third one I bought at Target. Same watch, just paid a couple of dollars more, because I didn't want to take the chance of getting another defective one from Amazon.
