Casio Men's WV58DA-1AV Waveceptor Atomic Sport Watch Review

Casio Men's WV58DA-1AV Waveceptor Atomic Sport Watch
Average Reviews:

This watch has a lot of features like stop watch, alarm, and automatic time sync. They are work well. It also has some negatives. This watch is heavy and big. My bicep has grown an inch in the first week. The wrist band is difficult to re-size. You must remove links unless you have a huge wrist. You will need an awl, or something slender and pointed. The keys that hold these links togeter came out very hard, I scratched the outside of the band with every link removed. I should have laid the band on a soft cloth (my fault). The watch is perfectly accurate, not bad looking, and priced under $40. That's a pretty good value for this type of watch.

Casio Men's AE1000WD-1AVCF World Time Silver-Tone Bracelet and Digital Sport Watch Review

Casio Men's AE1000WD-1AVCF World Time Silver-Tone Bracelet and Digital Sport Watch
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought this watch as a replacement to a $250 Citizen watch. I needed something that could display 2 time zones and the date simultaneously. This didn't quite meet that need but for the price it came very close.
Pluses:
The band has a very secure latch on it. There's actually a release button you have to hit to open it (which is easy to push).
You can set 4 time zones to swap between with a single button (T1 through T4). T1 is always displayed on the analog dial at the top right.
It shows you exactly where in the world the currently selected time zone is. No more guessing which city is the one you need.
It has multiple alarms, all of which can be set for one time or daily use.
The backlight is very easy to read and stays on just long enough to read the date & time. You have two options for the length. I left it on 1sec which is enough.
The time display is very large and easy to read.
Minuses:
The date is only shown with the T1 timezone selected. This means you can either have T1 in analog and digital with the date or you can have T1 analog, another time zone digital, and no date.
The watch band is not very comfortable. It's not bad, but it's probably going to get replaced soon just because I don't like it.
Overall:
For the price this watch delivers. The instructions are easy to follow and setting it up is a breeze. I would highly recommend this watch to anyone looking for a good time piece with some very nice features.

Casio Men's AQ160WD-1BV Ana-Digi Electro-Luminescent Sport Watch Review

Casio Men's AQ160WD-1BV Ana-Digi Electro-Luminescent Sport Watch
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Great watch with many great features. I love the size of the digital layout and the metal band is durable. To resize the band, push out the pins from the side that looks like screws.
Pros: Accurate, good looking, multiple alarms, timer, and stop-watch.
Cons: Metal band latch sometimes deforms, making it hard to latch. You have to bend it a certain way to make it work. The analog hands sometimes get out of sync with the digital time. You can fix that easily, but annoying sometimes. Lastly, at night you can't use the watch features. There is a light, but it occupies a button used for setting alarms and such. So if you are setting your alarm, you can't see the display. Timex has a night feature that, once enabled, turns the light on with every button press. My former watch had it and it was a very handy feature.
Great for the price.

This is a nice watch to wear while you're working or doing stuff around. If you want to wear it as a sport watch I wouldn't recommend it for the reason that it has a metal band, but, I guess you could wear it any time. It's very light compared to some other watches that I own. It's not very big and it doesn't have that blue colored screen as shown in the picture, it just looks like a regular quartz watch. It's got a 10 year battery, I really don't think that any of these cheap watches will last for so long if you wear it day by day.Another thing is that it's screen is not mineral as specified in it's description but hard plastic just like all these Casio quartz watches.I gave it 5 stars because this is a very nice watch for this amount of money. If you want something fancier spend more dough.I am very happy with my purchase and the shipping was very fast.

Casio Men's MTP3036A-2AV Analog Bracelet Watch Review

Casio Men's MTP3036A-2AV Analog Bracelet Watch
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought this from Amazon for $22, and it is a great deal. Here is what you get from this watch for a beer budget:
1. Quartz clock accuracy (+/- 20 sec per month, probably one standard-deviation, so yours is likely to be more accurate than that).
2. Anti-scratch mineral crystal watch surface. I accidentally bumped it against a steel nail, and the glass did not scratch.
3. Stainless steel case and screw-in back cover -- should be water-proof for many years even after battery change (as opposed to a press-and-pop-in back cover that loses its water-tightness after opening).
4. Stainless steel band with secure push button clasp should last a few years longer than leather or plastic bands which require constant replacing. I soaked the watch in water on the first day, and it has not rusted after two weeks -- stainless as advertised.
5. A good looking watch with quality workmanship -- smooth and shiney crystal glass with perfectly machined shiney stainless steel surfaces on the case and band. You would think that the watch costs $80 ~ $100. The only thing missing from my wish list is the luminating hands and hour-markings. You will not be able to read the watch in the dark. But for 20 bucks, I'll live with it.

Casio Men's EFA123D-7AV Ana-Digi Sport Watch Review

Casio Men's EFA123D-7AV Ana-Digi Sport Watch
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I've had this watch for a few weeks now. I really like the looks of the watch and the bracelet has an excellent clasp more like those found on much more expensive watches. Documentation is typical of most Casio watches, very tiny letters in lots of languages, complete, and uninspired. Everything on the display is crisp and clear, but those with older eyes should take notice that the analog dial, the place where you actually read the time is rather small and for me requires concentration. My work around is to set the World Time Zone to my local time and then read the time from the digital numbers at the bottom of the screen. This replaces the date but makes the time easily readable for me without having to look over my glasses. Also, after a few weeks of office wear the crystal shows no sign of scratches.

Timex Men's T78677 Classic Digital Gold-Tone Expansion Band Stainless Steel Bracelet Watch Review

Timex Men's T78677 Classic Digital Gold-Tone Expansion Band Stainless Steel Bracelet Watch
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I've owned this watch for a good 15 years. Not one watch, mind you; I've bought the exact same watch about 5 times over that period. It is a good watch, nice looking, loud enough alarm, and it lasts a long time on the included lithium battery.
The watch is definitely waterproof, but although the body of the watch looks like it's made out of metal, it is actually plastic, and the bottom of it will eventually pit out from sweat or water. So, take it off in the shower or pool.
My big gripe about the watch is the band. I prefer metal stretchy bands to metal snap-on bands or leather bands. This is a spiedel-type band, which will stretch over your hand and snap back in place. Frankly, the reason I've had to get so many of these watches over the years is that I will inevitably get the band caught on something while I'm taking off something or putting it on, and it will snap.
It is cheaper to buy an entirely new watch than to replace the band (around $25 versus $14), so that's what I do. I then use the old watches as supplementary alarms for years. And they do last for years.
A good, solid, digital watch that will give you years of trouble free use as long as you treat it right.

Casio Men's W755D-1AV Classic Silver-Tone Band Sport Watch Review

Casio Men's W755D-1AV Classic Silver-Tone Band Sport Watch
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
After owning this watch for a month, I have grown to really like it. I was concerned that it was too big for my small wrists, but I'm used to it by now. The large numbers for the time display are really nice; and the bold "font" gives the watch a modern look. The buttons are much more easy to push than my old Casio.
My only complaint so far is the soft crystal used. I already have a thin 1/4" scatch (fortunately in an unnoticable area). After having successful results on an older Casio watch I pulled out the old Dremel with the cloth/fiber polishing wheel. I was instantly horrified at how easily this carved out additional crystal rather than smooth out the scratch (I didn't even use the polishing compound). I do not recommend anyone else trying this.
I would easily have paid twice the price for this watch if the face had a more scratch resistant surface.

Casio Men's AW80D-7A Sports Chronograph Alarm 10-Year Battery Databank Watch Review

Casio Men's AW80D-7A Sports Chronograph Alarm 10-Year Battery Databank Watch
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I like a watch with analog hands, but with digital features. Since they are hard to find these days, I ordered this one.
The good:
The LCD portion of the watch is very easy to read.
The watch seems accurate so far.
The analog portion of the watch is controlled by the digital, so it should stay as accurate as the digital portion. (The minute hand clicks 1/3 of a minute every 20 seconds.)
The bad:
The digital portion of the watch has so many features that it is difficult to use. Do I really need three alarms? The watch can store 30 phone numbers in it. Ten years ago that could have been useful, but now I store all my numbers in my cell phone. To make use of all these features, I'd need to carry around the instruction manual (which is 100 pages long, if you include the English, Spanish, and warrantee--although the pages are small).
The watch has no second hand. Sometimes I like to use one to time short things. Yes, there is a built in stop watch, but it is as hard to use as all the other digital features. (But my guess is the lack of a second hand will extend battery life.)
The band grabbed the hair on my arm. I had to go out and buy a twist-o-flex.
There is no stem to set the analog portion of the watch. Instead, you go into handsetting mode in the digital portion, and push a button and wait for the hands to move forward to the correct time. To set the hands forward 11 hours to go off of DST took several minutes.
The watch has a DST setting. It sets the digital portion of the watch ahead an hour. But it doesn't automatically go back after DST ends. So you still need to adjust the watch. It's not much easier than just resetting the time. And it doesn't affect the analog hands.
The watch has a world time feature. You can quickly find out the time in Bangkok. But don't expect to use this on your vacation to keep track of the local time. Press any button and you will return to your local time.
The ugly:
The analog hands are hard to read. They are a light color on a white background.
There is too much writing on the watch. Not only is it ugly, but it is easy to confuse the "10 YEAR BATTERY" label next to the 3 for a minute hand.
There is a backlight for the analog portion at the push of a button. But it doesn't give quite enough light, and it goes out after a second even if you leave the button pushed in. There is no backlight for the digital portion.

A great choice for globetrotters, this stylish Casio analog-digital stainless steel watch for men combines the timeless look of an analog watch with the functionality of a digital watch. The round watch case has a raised bezel that frames the silvery blue dial, which includes a full Arabic numeral display and luminous dagger-style hands. A digital window sits above 6 o'clock displays time from a second time zone, thanks to the integrated world time function with 29 time zones (30 cities). You can also store short notes on the 30-page databank (with 8 letters and 6 numerals per page).
The watch includes a stopwatch that can time events down to 1/100 of a second, and features a 24-hour capacity, split time, and 1st-2nd place times, as well as a countdown timer with a 24-hour capacity. Other timekeeping features include four daily alarms (with one snooze alarm), hourly time signal (which can be turned off), and 12/24-hour formats. This is a very nice watch and I like most of the features. However, the one item that I thought would be helpful is the lighted dial. There is a button to press that lights up face of watch. It doesn't light the face enough to read it easily, Otherwise, it is a very handsome watch and the functions are very nice: day/date; alarm; hourly beep; timer. I would recommend the watch but the benefit of the light was very limited.

I just got mine today and its a nice, simple, elegant, looking watch. This is my third watch I buy in the past 6 years I think and they have all been Casio. I give it 4 stars because it does not come with the instructions on how to adjust the band and it can be frustrating.
STEP ONE: Get a Pushpin
STEP TWO: You will find an arrow pointing out on the removable parts of the band on the inside side.
STEP Three: Put the point of the pushpin on the tiny hole going right from the arrow about 2-3 mm.
Step Four: Inside the tiny hole there will be a dot, move the pushpin point to the opposite direction of the arrow so it falls on the deepest part of the tiny hole.
Step Five: Keeping the point in the deepest part push the dot towards the arrow's direction and a small tiny piece will come out. You may change the angle of the pushpin to make it easier.
Step Six: Repeat this process on another part so you can get the segment you need out.
Step Seven: To put it back together simply connect the two segments together and insert the tiny metal piece that you took out.

The watch looks sober and stylish.
PROS:
1. Casio make, presumably good quality materials and movement.
2. Nice design
CONS:
1. Light is feeble and does not illuminate the digital panel
2. Case of watch is not completely stainless steel, lower part is resin. In my last casio the resin clasp for the watch band broke. I bought this because I thought it would be stainless steel, but its not really.
3. The mineral dial cover is convex, so it will pick up scratches (like my last casio). I prefer flat watches
4. The watch is thick (say 3/60")

A great watch for globetrotters, this Casio men's stainless steel watch (model AW80D-1AV) enables you to easily track to time zones. It features an analog watch face that's supplemented by a digital window at the bottom, which can be set for a second time zone. It also offers a world time function with 29 time zones (30 cities), city code display, and daylight saving time on/off. Classically masculine, it has a round watch case with gray screw-down accents on the top of the case and a triple-link stainless steel bracelet band. Casio Men's W752D-1AV Multifunction Sport Watch Review

Casio Men's W752D-1AV Multifunction Sport Watch
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I recently purchased the W752D-1AV and I thought I'd review it and pass along a few things I learned from the sizable instruction manual.
First off, I'm very satisfied with the watch and the vendor (Chelsea Watch). I ordered the watch on Thursday and it arrived with standard shipping the following Monday. The package was safe and secure and the watch arrived in excellent condition.
I chose the 752 for a combination of reasons: a) Large LCD digital display, b) light weight, c) metal band and body, d) more than one alarm function, e) front mounted light button (not side mounted), f) 10 year battery and g) made by Casio. In all of these things I am completely satisfied and can heartily recommend the watch for anyone seeking this combination of features. The face of the watch is crisp and large and the numbers and display are easy to read. The metal watch and band are large and masculine looking but very light weight. There are 4 alarm functions, one of which features a snooze option, and the front mounted light button is easy to use and works fine for my purposes. I would prefer a blue backlight to the side mounted white LED, but that's a matter of personal preference and I couldn't find a watch with blue backlight and 10 year battery and the side mounted white LED works just fine. For a watch that costs around $20, having a 10 year battery is a great benefit, since they charge around $15 locally to replace watch batteries in water resistant watches. Why buy a new watch battery at $15 every couple of years when you can buy one watch for around $20 and have it last 10 years.
So ... I'm very happy with my new watch and can recommend it to anyone seeking this combination of features. However, there are a few things I learned in shopping for this watch that I thought I'd pass along.
1) BATTERY AND E.L. BACKLIGHT - To the best of my knowledge, Casio does not yet offer a 10 year battery on any watch featuring blue electroluminescent back lighting. I'm assuming it draws too much power to last 10 years.
2) AUTO LIGHT - This watch comes with the option of being able to automatically light the LED light any time you tip the watch toward your face (40 tilt or more), but they warn it will reduce battery life if you use this option. I didn't want or need it, so I leave it turned off. The front mounted button is easy enough for me to use.
3) CRACKING PLASTIC BANDS / RESIN BANDS - In the instruction manual, they explain a great mystery that puzzles me all the MORE for understanding the reasons behind it. I used to love to purchase Casio watches with plastic bodies and bands, but stopped the practice when it became clear I couldn't keep the bands in tact for more than about 18 months. They always cracked and split long before the watch itself died. This was a consistent problem I faced with at least half a dozen such watches. I never knew why they split so badly, but they always did. Well, in the instruction booklet for this all metal watch, they happend to mention that IF you get a plastic (or, as they call it, resin) band for the watch, don't allow it to stay exposed to water or perspiration for long periods of time as it WILL lead to cracking and splitting. I was STUNNED. As a person who perspires freely and lives in a humid climate, this is virtually impossible for me to do any time I'm active for long periods of time. According to the instructions, I should remove the watch if I'm going to be perspiring for long periods of time and dry the watch off when the band does get wet. WHY on earth any company would continue to use a material for wrist bands that their own instruction manuals admit will crack and split with prolonged exposure to water and / or perspiration is beyond me. Anyone out there buying plastic band watches and working in a swimming pool? You might want to go ALL metal. AS far as I know, this must be true for all or most plastic banded watches in the world, as more than just my Casio's have met this fate in the past. I long ago switched to all metal watches and I suggest the industry find a new material that doesn't scream "We want you to buy a new watch every year or two". But that's just me. Or is it?
4) 10 YEAR BATTERIES AND WATER RESISTANCE - One thing that drew me to this watch was it's 10 year battery. As I said before, it never sat well with me to have to drop $15 to have a 2 dollar battery replaced just because the watch requires special handling to preserve it's water seal. But when I read the instructions for this watch, I was very surprised to find that even though it comes with a 10 year battery ... if you want to preserve the water resistent features, you have to have the water seal replaced every 2 to 3 years. Now, this doesn't matter to me personally, as I don't bathe or swim with my watch on, but ... what exactly is the point of making a 10 year battery for a water resistant watch if you have to bring it to someone to replace the seal every 2 to 3 years? I made the 10 year battery a part of my selection process to avoid having to pay someone $15 every 2 to 3 years to open my water resistant watch ... only to find that if water resistance WAS important to me, I'd have to do this anyway. I don't really see the advantage here. So, if water resistance AND a 10 year battery are important to you, you might want to rethink your decision making. If, like me, the water resistance doesn't matter, then feel free to enjoy your 10 year battery as I plan to.
5) SIZING THE METAL WATCH BAND - While I found the manual that came with my 752 very informative, it said absolutely nothing about HOW to adjust the size of the metal band with which it is equipped. I assume this is because the 752 body is available with many different bands. The process isn't all that difficult, but there area few things you'll need to know and to have handy to resize the band. The band itself comes in a size that was about 2 links too large for my medium/large sized wrist. There are two possible downsizing solutions offered: A) Move the mounting pin on the main outer clasp so that the pin rests closer to the push button release and/or B) remove one or more links.
There are 4 sets of holes the mounting pin can rest in. I moved the mounting pin from the position furthest from the push button release to the one closest to it. That cut the "too big" factor by about half. I realized I would also have to remove a link. Here's how to do both:
MOVING THE CLASP MOUNTING PIN
The clasp mounting pin sits between pairs of small holes in the main clasp (4 pairs to choose from). Use a small metal object (fine point metal pencil tip, a thick pin, thumb tack point, tiny tipped scredriver for glasses) and carefully push one end of the pin intward and to one side. This will remove the end of the pin from it's hole, allowing the pin to be wiggled free from between its current pair of holes. BE CAREFUL ... there is a spring inside this mounting pin and if you're not careful, once it's out of it's mounting holes, it may want to SPRING away from you. Once the pin is free, move the pin to one of the pairs of mounting holes you think will work best for your wrist size and place one end into one of the holes. Next, slide the other end of the mounting pin along the inside of the clasp until the other end of the pin pops into the opposing whole of your chosing. The spring inside the pin will allow the free end to compress as you slide it closer to the hole and will then push the end into the hole when you reach it.
REMOVING LINKS
If the band is still too big after moving the mounting pin as far as you can, now it's time to remove a link or two. If you're going to remove links, decide first from which side it will make the most sense to remove the link or links. If you take them front he wrong side, you might find the watch fits perfectly, but sits crooked on your arm. That's what I did the first time. The watch fit fine, but it sat funny on my arm.
To determine on which side it will make the most sense to remove links, put the watch on your wrist and close the clasp and center the clasp on the underside of your arm and check to see where the watch body now sits on your wrist. If it sits more to one side or the other, be sure to remove a link or links that will leave the watch face directly opposite the clasp as much as possible. For example, if, when you put the watch on, the body already sits directly across from the clasp and you need to remove two links, be sure to remove one from each side, or the watch will sit crooked on your arm.
This band comes with a fairly easy to use system for removing (or adding) links. Several links on either side of the clasp feature a hole on the back surface (the side that lays against your skin) into which a very small screwdriver can be inserted. (If you don't have them already, I'd suggest spending a dollar or two on either a glasses repair screwdriver or one of those super small sets of screw drivers you can find in most grocery, drug, electronics and mass merchansizing stores as well as any home improvement center.) Use the smallest diameter screwdriver you can find and insert it into the whole on inside of the link you wish to remove and push very firmly and very carefully in the direction indicated by the arrow that's stamped into the back of the link. (Don't push toward the arrow, push in the same direction indicated by the arrow). If you don't have much hand or arm strength, you may need to have someone else do this for you. By pushing repeatedly and firmly in the direction of the arrow, you'll eventually push the connector piece out one side off the link. Keep pushing until the connector piece extends far enough beyond the end of the...Read more›

Casio Men's MTG910DA-1V G-Shock MT-G Solar Atomic Watch Review

Casio Men's MTG910DA-1V G-Shock MT-G Solar Atomic Watch
Average Reviews:

I really like mine and would highly recommend it. Many of my buddies had G-Shock watches when I was deployed to Iraq and I decided to get one when I got home. I wanted a watch that could stand up to whatever I put it through. This piece it big, black, heavy, tough, and looks good on my wrist. On top of that, it has atomic accuracy (I don't think this feature works overseas), and is solar powered. The band is metal. The face and back of the watch is also metal. There are a few plastic parts on the case, but you can't tell by looking. It's all black. The light button and ring around the face are shiny compared to the rest of the watch. This is a subtle accent. The watch and band have a slight gloss. I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars because it doesn't have a countdown timer and the alarm needs to be a lot louder.
