The other watches were "water resistant" but I found out that the water resistance went out the window once the seal was broken by replacing the battery which always seemed to be needed sooner than I expected. Since this is a solar watch I do not expect to have to replace the battery (and break the seal) for years. It was charged and at the correct time out of the box. It automatically resets the time every day from a signal in Fort Collins, CO. (No problem in IN) which is supposed to cover all of the USA. It also adjusted automatically to DST. In addition it has 5 alarms which are easy to set so I have used them through the day as reminders. The weak "link" so to speak may be the plastic band. It will likely break before the watch and I'm not sure it can be replaced.

Timex Men's T44642 Metal Analog and Digital Combo Watch Review

(More customer reviews)I generally like the Timex Expedition series because they have both an alarm and a light on an analog watch.
I had an older Timex Expedition that had a rotating ring around the face. This ring was used to set the time and the alarm, and was very simple and quick to use. Just spin the ring to the alarm time, and pull out the crown to set the alarm. There was also a nice feature that would let you set an alarm for up to 1 hour from now, which was nice for setting timers for cooking, etc., without having to set the 12 hour alarm.
On this new watch, there is both an analog face and a digital display as well. I had hoped that they would be synchronized with each other. However, there is no connection between the two parts. The time must be set twice, once for analog using the crown, and once for digital using the buttons, and they do not necessarily stay in sync. I had hoped that you would use the crown to set both the analog and digital times at the same time. Also, the alarm is only settable on the digital part, using the buttons. The procedure for setting the digital alarm is hard to remember how to do, since I don't do it every day. I also miss the "under 1 hour" alarm feature from my old Timex.

(More customer reviews)I had a watch like this a couple of years back and it was my favourite watch, unfortunately I lost it, but I loved it so much that I just had to buy it again. I have to agree with the previous reviewer, this really IS "the most refined, well designed watch on the face of the planet", so elegant that you forget that it, after all, is a plastic watch, not a Rolex. So light that you wont notice it's there, and stylish enough to fit even the most expensive business attire. A classic for sure, and never mind that there aren't any numbers on the dial, or no date, or no alarm, or no backlight. I just love this watch, simply because it really is a statement of good taste, and no one will ever guess it coast you less than 10 dollars.

(More customer reviews)This is a very thick clunky watch, and probably not worth the price. The compass feature - the main reason I bought the watch - doesn't work well at all - it constantly has problems and claims to need to be calibrated. I'm guessing the waterproof aspects work well but haven't had a chance to dive with it. Overall you're probably better off buying a very inexpensive waterproof digital watch and a separate compass. The two would probably not be much bulkier than the watch anyways!

(More customer reviews)When I saw the cool red color of this watch i had to buy it...everyone should have at least one watch that is unique and stands out from the dreary black/white world of normal everyday watches...these G-Shock Casios (I have a few) are so rugged, extremely well built and reliable they will probably outlive us all. The only reason this gets 4 stars from me instead of 5 is that the initial set up is somewhat complicated and time consuming...whatever you do, DO NOT LOSE THE OWNER'S MANUAL!...you will need it!

(More customer reviews)The features in this watch are exactly what is required if you travel globally like me. The 3 time zones which can be set in this watch is a nice feature. The backlight is adequate and the alarm is loud enough to wake you up. The only reason i didnt give this watch a 5 is beacuse of the strap. Though a nylon strap feels good, its not my preferred choice.
But you can always replace the strap to any material you want afterwards, which i intend to do. Timex watches are always known for their long battery life and this watch doesnt dissapoint. I recommend this watch to anyone who likes adventure gear.

Casio Men's EF305-1AV Multifunction Analog Watch Review

(More customer reviews)This watch is an excellent every day watch for someone who wants an affordable watch that they can wear to work or to the park. With its chronograph styling, dark resin band, and classic sizing (I think it's ~38mm diameter and not too thick, though as I recently lost mine I can't be sure), it definitely will give the impression that you are wearing a much more expensive watch. When I used to wear it, I got compliments on it all the time and cost estimates in the hundreds =D.
However, don't be fooled by the "multifunction watch" title. The sub-dials show day/date/24-hour time, and that's it--no dual time, no stopwatch, it's not a digital watch replacement. The second markings aren't clear or accurate enough for you to really time anything. This was mostly fine for me but I found myself occasionally missing those functions. What I personally found most annoying, however, was the choice of mineral crystal as the watch window material, a poor compromise between acrylic and sapphire glass. Harder than acrylic, but way softer than sapphire, it still scratches fairly easily for a "beater" watch but you don't have the option of easily buffing it out.
