Yes. Limited edition collaboration G-Shocks tend to soar in value after two years from release. The current price of a limited edition 6900 model G-Shock released two years ago with an MSRP of $150 is between $250-$350. If you buy this watch now and store it in a safe, you are very likely to make a profit in the future.
*From a practical point of view...*
No. This watch has no atomic timing, solar power, world time, snooze, mute, or automatic illumination, features found on most G-Shocks above $100. This watch only has current time, one alarm clock (instead of four like other new G-Shocks), stopwatch, and timer. Admittedly, all you need in a watch for everyday life are those four functions.
This G-Shock is made in Japan while other G-Shocks tend to be made in Thailand, Malaysia, or China. The quality of Japanese G-Shocks is reported to be the same as G-Shocks made in other Asian countries. All G-Shocks are tough and reliable, whether they are made in Japan, Thailand, or China.
*From a Fashion Point of View...*
Well, that really depends on your tastes. Below are some cosmetic aspects of the watch that internet pictures don't clearly show.
1) Under the time display is the slogan "Number One in the Hood". Makes me smile every time I read it.
2) When you hit the black light, a frowning face appears. This frowning face is a logo for Aqua Teen Hunger Force.
3) The watch's white color is more of a gray white than bleach white. The gray white makes the watch appear more substantial than bleach white.
4) On the band, there is a pattern of fries, hamburger, and shake. This pattern makes the clasp side of the watch look more interesting while wearing.
*Conclusion*
As I stated in the beginning, this watch is more of a jewelry/collectible than a tool. So this watch is only worth getting if you really like the design or you plan on reselling the watch in the future. I bought this watch because I think the Aqua Teen Hunger Force G-Shock is one of the best designed G-Shocks ever made.
